Old or new, all bikes deserve some love

There are a few groups of folks, those who want a top of the line bike to workout and race with and those who want to just get back outside after a long winter.

DAK Bikes caters to both of them.

While a local criterium racer might need some adjustments to fine-tune their bike for top performance, we also cater to the folks who have had that old department store bike in storage for the last eight years. It wasn’t shifting right the last time you rode it, the chain kept falling off and you gave up trying to ride it. You might have even forgotten about it until the spring temps started hitting the 70s.

I’m here to help.

Cycling is a great way to get outside and see some stuff, it’s also a great low impact cardiovascular exercise that won’t put great strain on your hips or knees like jogging might. Especially if you’re a large mammal like me.

Personally, I just like fixing bikes. I used to fix cars part-time and the stress of a rusty broken bolt or anxiety of a wheel bearing that took me five hours to remove just kept moving the blood pressure higher.

There is a sort of meditative relaxation that comes from fixing the simple machine that is the bicycle.

Whether you’ve got a department store bike that’s been sitting around collecting dust or a top end carbon bike that you race on the weekends, I can generally help you get that bike rolling again.

With low overhead, I’m able to charge much lower rates than brick-and-mortar shops. I’ll even pick up your bike and drop it off to you if it needs repair or the service takes more than a couple hours. I work a day job, I don’t need to make this my career.

It’s for the love of bikes.
